Babylonian numerals
The Babylonian system of mathematics was a sexagesimal (base 60) numeral system. From this we derive the modern-day usage of 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, and 360 degrees in a circle.
What’s in a Name
Why is this website called Sixty Units?
Base 12 or 60 systems work far better than base 10 systems, because 10 only has 2 other factors (other than 1 and itself);
12 has 4 other factors, while 60 has 10 others.
When I set out the grids in my 3d software I use 60 subdivision.
I was brought up using 12, we had to learn our 12 times table.
